I couldn’t finish 2022 without another Reading Nook Inspiration post. Compared to other reading nooks I’ve admired, this one is a bit more simple and a little less book-filled, but the refreshing, bright, and tidy elements are particularly attractive to me at this point in the year.

New year, same love for cozy reading nooks and dreamy home libraries. The room – well, rooms – I’ve chosen to feature in this edition of Reading Nook Inspiration balance light and dark features, include plush-looking furniture, and offer the perfect hideaway for enjoying the books on the shelves.

My online collection/lookbook of reading nooks and home libraries has grown exponentially this year. It certainly has a lot to do with quarantine and being stuck with and getting sick of looking at the same dozen or so walls in my apartment. The reading nook I’ve chosen to feature in this edition of Reading Nook Inspiration has so many features I find charming, and is quite different from the study/book space in my apartment—which makes it even more dreamy.

For the first time in a few weeks (months?), we are experiencing gloomy, overcast weather here in the northeast; the stretch of clouds and rain is much needed for the outdoors, and it has put me into a wonderfully cozy mood. That cozy mood has me daydreaming about my ideal rainy day reading nook, and while the ones I’ve featured here on the blog would do just fine, the following space just feels like the ideal place to spend a rainy day without any frills or extravagances, except those within the pages of books (I have once again turned to Houzz—not sponsored or affiliated, just giving credit—to provide me the…

When I publish a Reading Nook Inspiration blog post, you can bet I’ve hit a writer’s block or need a break from a post I’ve been working on for a bit too long – in this case, the latter is true. Needing  to escape that post (and even my apartment) for a little while, I once again turned to Houzz (not sponsored or supported) and browsed some beautiful reading nooks – this reading space looks different than the others I’ve featured, but it’s the kind of space I’m craving at the moment.

Just like in 2016 when I wrote the first Reading Nook Inspiration post, writer’s block has currently made itself quite comfortable in my brain. And since I’m also feeling the mild effects of an end-of-the-month reading slump, I’m turning to books and a reading nook that are not mine to satisfy my need for creative inspiration and serenity.
