2018 Reading Challenge | April
Well the sunshine and increasingly good weather certainly deserve some credit for the things I accomplished this month, in addition to the great books and blog posts I read. Again, I did not do a book haul for this month because again, I read mostly library books and a couple of ebooks for reviews. I’ll get into why I will have a book haul for May at the end of this post, but first, I’ll talk about the books I did read. And if this is your first time here (hello!) or you would like a refresher on my 2018 Reading Challenge, you can get all the details here.

Blog Tour: The Lighthouse Keeper’s Daughter
Today’s stop on the blog tour for Cherry Radford’s The Lighthouse Keeper’s Daughter is – you guessed it – right here. Check out previous posts about this work of fiction from this very blog tour by browsing the bloggers on the poster below, and be sure to visit The Secret World of a Book Blog, another host for today. I want to thank Love Books Group for sending me the ebook copy of The Lighthouse Keeper’s Daughter, and as always, the thoughts I put down in this post are all my own. With that said, let’s get into it.

There’s Something About New Bookshelves
Two weeks ago today, filled with excitement from getting two new bookshelves, I created a Twitter poll asking if anyone would like to see a blog post about them (and my new personal library arrangement), a shelfie on Instagram, both, or neither. As you can see in the below screenshot, both won. If you participated in my poll – THANK YOU! And to all of you reading this, thank you for stopping by to see how I’ve arranged my new shelves.

Book Review: The Watchmaker’s Doctor
The Watchmaker’s Doctor – An Erase and Rewind Novella G.M.T. Schuilling The Watchmaker’s Doctor(An Erase and Rewind Novella) was published on April 1st, 2018. While I was given a copy of the e-book, all thoughts are my own. If you would like to learn more about G.M.T. Schuilling, click here. And while I prefer my book reviews to be spoiler-free, I have mentioned some minor character details in this review. SYNOPSIS: The Watchmaker’s Doctor is the first novella in Erase and Rewind, a collection for new adults that delves into the biggest regrets of the dying, and follows their stories of what might have been. Anaya, a disillusioned, thirty-five-year-old doctor, has been…

To Read or Not To Read?
I know, a crazy question. With a seemingly obvious answer: READ! But I also know that I’m not the only one whose To Be Read list (or current reads list) would take years to finish; or the only one who is surrounded by unread books on bedside tables, bookshelves, coffee tables, dining room tables, and really any appropriate surface in one’s place of residence. Sometimes, it’s best to just return that library book you’ve now renewed four times or accumulated enough overdue fees to have to stop buying coffee for a week. And sometimes you just need to accept one particular bookshelf as “the one which holds all unreads,” whether…
