From My Bookshelf: Non-Bookish Items
For the first From My Bookshelf post of 2021, I’m doing something I’ve never done before. Instead of featuring books, I’m shining the spotlight on some of the other items that take up physical and sentimental space on my bookshelves. If you are new to From My Bookshelf, you can learn about the series here.

From My Bookshelf: More Shirley Jackson
In the October edition of From My Bookshelf, I featured three of Shirley Jackson’s novels that I had recently added to my book (and Penguin Classics) collection, and mentioned that I wanted to own and read all of six of Shirley Jackson’s novels. I am happy to say that since that post, I have read all three of those books (I read We Have Always Lived in the Castle last year). I do plan on discussing each book in separate blog posts, but that is a project for the future. Today I’m featuring the remaining two Shirley Jackson novels books, which I’m excited to read and place on my shelves…

From My Bookshelf: Boozy Books
This edition of From My Bookshelf features my two most recently purchased books. One of my local independent bookstores was offering a selection of “Boozy Books for Election Day,” and these ones in particular caught my eye.

From My Bookshelf: Shirley Jackson
When thinking about what books and authors I wanted to read this fall and, more specifically, in October, Shirley Jackson came to mind. I read both We Have Always Lived in the Castle and her short story collection Dark Tales for the first time in 2018, and it’s beyond time for me to read (and hopefully fall in love with) Shirley Jackson’s other books. And because I do hope to one day own all of Shirley Jackson’s novels and collections, I decided to purchase the books I want to read rather than borrow them from the library. If you are new to From My Bookshelf, you can learn about it here.

Three more books have recently made their way from a bookstore to my shelves, so I’m sharing them in another edition of From My Bookshelf.

From My Bookshelf: Home, Gingerbread, Save (Quill Subscription Box)
Three more books have recently made their way from a bookstore to my shelves, and since this wasn’t an ordinary purchase, I’m also going to share how they arrived in this edition of From My Bookshelf.
