There's Something About the books From My Bookshelf. From My Bookshelf is a blog feature I write in order to share the books and titles in my personal library. Every month I revisit favorite stories, to be read novels, and forgotten gems from my bookshelf. They all have their own place in my heart, and therefore I will talk about them in multiple capacities. Sometimes I'll be sentimental, other times I'll be superficial (book covers deserve love, too); either way I hope you enjoy learning about what's on my bookshelves.

From My Bookshelf: Innocence, Mirth, Frome
Welcome to From My Bookshelf – 2018 edition! Since I’ll be going through (attempting, at least) and listing each of my books here on the blog as part of my Reading Challenge, I looked to the end of my alphabetized shelf at the books that won’t get a lot of love until closer to the end of the year. The following three books stuck out to me because they were written by the same author, and since this author’s birthday falls on the 24th of this month, they were obvious choices.

The first fictional character I became truly invested in was Ramona Quimby. Even now she holds a piece of my heart, as does author Beverly Cleary, who I know is cherished by more readers, teachers, and individuals than by just me.

Once again, my hometown library held a stellar book sale, and once again, I brought home “way too many” books. While almost all of the books I chose are works of fiction, the following three are works of non-fiction that I could not pass up (and three works that I haven’t yet read). They are:Ā Part of My Soul Went with Him by Winnie Mandela,Ā Mockingbird: A Portrait of Harper Lee by Charles J. Shields, andĀ Having Our Say: The Delany Sisters’ First 100 Years by Sarah and A. Elzabeth Delany with Amy Hill Hearth.

We all know the timeless adage “don’t judge a book by its cover.” As a book lover, though, I practice that in just about every area of my life except books. The following three picks From My Bookshelf are proof of that:Ā Mansfield Park, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find ThemĀ (screenplay),Ā andĀ Charlotte’s Web and Other Illustrated Classics.Ā The charm of their covers isn’t the only reason I purchased them, but it certainly makes me treasure them more.
