From My Bookshelf: Wilkie, Pamela, Huck Finn
The following three books From My Bookshelf are editions from Oxford World’s Classics, an imprint of Oxford University Press. The best way to describe these wonderful editions are of course, in Oxford University Press’ own words: “Each affordable volume reflects Oxford’s commitment to scholarship, providing the most accurate text plus a wealth of other valuable features, including expert introductions by leading authorities, voluminous notes to clarify the text, up-to-date bibliographies for further study, maps, illustrations and much more.” A thorough introduction, notes on the text, a bibliography, glossary, and if you can believe it, much more accompany each novel. From My Bookshelf: Clara, Breakfast, Lovely
Happy Friday friends! I’m headed into another three-day weekend (the blizzard this past Monday shut down just about the entire state), so I’m feeling energized regardless of how crazy this work week was. I have a few projects to work on and some planning to do, so right now is the perfect time to sit in front of my bookshelves and choose three books to talk to you about.

From My Bookshelf: Sense, Gospel, Epic, Tequila
I’m just now remembering that I did not do a From My Bookshelf post in December, so I’ll add an extra book to this one. At the moment, or previous to this writing, I filled my brain with information about tile games for a work assignment, and added more to my discussion of The Fireman which I want to do be done with but feel I’ll never do justice. So I’m using this as a little break, to talk about three books from my shelves.

From My Bookshelf: A View, a Memoir, and a Trip
“From My Bookshelf” is an idea (maybe the start of a series?) I thought of as I stared at my bookshelf in the room of my apartment dubbed “the office” and tried to come up with something to write about. I’ve chosen three titles, one of which I have read (The Trip, and not the kind you take with your family. Or maybe it is the kind you take with your family…no judgment here); one that has been part of my library since I can remember (A View); and finally, one I could not remember ever acquiring (A Memoir).

Shorter, Condensed, Succinct, Abridged
My trip to the library on Friday started with slight disappointment but ended with a flurry of thoughts about what we – as readers, scholars, editors, people of the present – do to and with literature of the past. First, the disappointment.
