RC 2016 – Halfway Through January
Good morning! We are now about halfway through January and although I haven’t finished either of my Reading Challenge titles yet, I am happy to report that I am at least halfway through them. How are you doing in your own challenge or challenges? Much to my dismay, Modern Romance has been like a mediocre date you are drawn to, but once you are on that date you remember why it’s mediocre: regardless of the shiny restaurant and familiar person, the pieces are just not fitting quite right and the things that should impress you come up short. On another note, I feel like The Goldfinch is surgically attached to my hands and…

RC 2016 – Year & January Intro
I am excited to start my 2016 Reading Challenge – I’ll consider it my inaugural Reading Challenge, as my 2015 Challenge (apart from Summer’s) only lasted half the year. During the inaugural Challenge, I learned how to use Goodreads to track the books I want to read, that I have read, and those I’m reading, as well as connect with other readers and groups interested in challenging themselves throughout the year. I’m still discovering publishers, authors, and other bloggers who provide beautiful insight, tips, and previews related to the wonderful world of reading, writing, and liberal arts – allowing me to make educated, spontaneous, and exciting decisions about my own…

RC2015 – December Intro
Happy December 1st! I’ve said it a thousand times, but I’ll say it again: I cannot believe another month has passed. This new one is bigger than the rest of course, because it’s the last of 2015. Yikes. I hope you got the chance to read my November Reading Challenge Wrap-Up, and if you didn’t that’s okay, it’s not a prerequisite to December’s. I am scaling back to one book this month, because I’m anticipating heavier subject matter that I want to take more time to get through, and with the holidays in full force I will be busier than usual. For this month, I am reading Ta-Nehisi Coates’s Between the…

RC2015 – November Intro
Good morning and happy Sunday! Also, happy Daylight Saving Time and first day of NaNoWriMo, NaBloPoMo, and all the other November Writing Challenges. I did have to manually set back one wall clock as well as the stove clock and my coffee maker clock, but of course my gadgets did it automatically. Oh, I need to remember to turn back my wristwatch… I spent the last couple of days (read: weeks) brainstorming NaNoWriMo ideas, and among doing laundry, cleaning my apartment, and keeping track of my Fantasy Football team today, I am expecting to pump out a wonderful array of words. Third paragraph in and I’m finally getting down to the…

RC2015 – Halfway Through October
Hello readers and welcome to my halfway point update for the first month of my 2015 Reading Challenge. That sounds much more formal than it actually is, since I’m just going to tell you I have made it through about 1/3 of Yes Please, and other than the fact that I’m enjoying it, there’s not much more to report. Are you reading along with me? Are you reading something else? Leave an update on me, and like I have mentioned before, follow me on Goodreads to see what I’ve shelved, what else is on my currently-reading list, and books I’ve reviewed. And stop by in a couple of weeks as…

Reading Challenge: An Introduction
Here you will find my updates on my monthly reading challenge (the monthly status may be updated as this feature ages). If you followed my Summer Reading Challenge, this will be a continuation of those posts throughout – you guessed it – non-summer months. I have a Goodreads account, so either check out what I’m currently reading and what I have shelved by going to the menu (up and to your right) and looking at the feed, or add me by clicking HERE. As always, feel free to join me as I make my way through each tome, share and comment your thoughts/reviews/feedback below, and let me know if you have a…
