My first weekly reading update of November. Let’s go!
This meme was formerly hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and revived on Taking on a World of Words. All you have to do is answer the three questions below and leave a link to your post here for others to read.
The three questions:
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
what are you currently reading?
Still The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson, and Carrion by Graeme Cumming.
What did you recently finish reading?
Black Coffee by Agatha Christie (audiobook). I didn’t know until this moment that this was originally written as a play, and then later novelized (I read the novel). Knowing this now, I become more aware that the story took place primarily in one room—a setting perfect for a play. This didn’t hinder the novel in any way for me, I’m just having an “ah ha” moment. What did sort of hinder the magic of Christie’s mystery was the fact the murderer was basically exposed to us at the beginning (though a big part of the mystery was the motive). For me though, it was still fun to watch Hercule Poirot figure it all out (while fondly slightly Captain Hastings along the way).
What do you think you’ll read next?
As usual, my current reads and whatever else I’m in the mood for.
Did you answer the three W’s this week? How did your reading go over the past week? Feel free to direct me to your post in a comment below.
