NaNoWriMo 2022 | Week 2 Update
The first full week of NaNoWriMo had good days and no days (that is, days when I didn’t write a single word of my story), but I’m still feeling as passionate about my characters, setting, and plot as I did at the very beginning of the challenge.

The past week wasn’t as great as the first stretch of National Novel Writing Month. I was exhausted, is all I can say, so the words for my story did not come as easily as I had hoped.
My current word count is 15,983 words. I’m glad to have met the 15,000 word milestone, although I’m a little behind on the track to 50,000 words. I’m a little disappointed about that, but not discouraged. If I’ve learned anything in my NaNoWriMo experience, it’s that missing a day of writing here and there does not indicate failure. Especially when there are so many more days in the month to go, and especially since I am still enthusiastic and interested in my idea.
I have written a little over 2,000 words today (just wrapped them up, actually), which I feel great about. My work week starts tomorrow so I think I’m going to call it there for the night, and pick up where I left off tomorrow.
That’s all for this update. Best wishes to all fellow participants as we get deeper into the challenge. Feel free to reach out here, on Twitter, or Instagram if you need a pep talk, to rant about your WIP, or just to say hi!
