May Wrap-Up 2023
Most of my May reading consisted of work notes and crossword clues, but here’s a wrap-up anyway.
Books Read
None.
Books I Did Not Finish
- Elantris by Brandon Sanderson
- Paperback
- At this point, is it considered punishment that I continue reading this? Is there a word for the experience of not wanting to DNF a book but not being able to let it go either? Denial? Self-torture?

Blog Posts
None from May.

I will reiterate my April thoughts, including the minimal hope I have to regain a healthy reading routine in the near future. My tone on the blog has been bleak this year, but I’m still cautiously optimistic that I will get back into some kind of groove.

What did you read (or not read) last month? Any recommendations, or blog posts you’ve loved (of yours or others’)? Let’s chat in the comments.

When I get into a reading slump, I find reading an anthology of short stories sometimes helps. Finishing a single story sometimes feels more manageable than reading a whole novel, and it still gives that sense of achievement. My other slump-breaker is to re-read a much loved book, or a book from a much loved author. Hope you get your groove back!
