From My Bookshelf: Two Moons, Ramona, Narnia
Sunlight is flooding my apartment and it is making me incredibly happy. Which feels a little strange, because yesterday we had a snowstorm and the beautiful white crystals steadily falling to the ground made me quite happy too. While I’m not totally impressed that we have a few fresh inches of snow, the warmth and sun of today will surely melt them so I can start enjoying the walking trail near my apartment, because I’m tired of slipping [and falling] on the icy ground. From My Bookshelf: A View, a Memoir, and a Trip
“From My Bookshelf” is an idea (maybe the start of a series?) I thought of as I stared at my bookshelf in the room of my apartment dubbed “the office” and tried to come up with something to write about. I’ve chosen three titles, one of which I have read (The Trip, and not the kind you take with your family. Or maybe it is the kind you take with your family…no judgment here); one that has been part of my library since I can remember (A View); and finally, one I could not remember ever acquiring (A Memoir).

Rainy Days and Book Nostalgia
It’s been steadily raining all day, and according to the local weatherwoman tomorrow is the only day we will be getting relief from the feels-colder-than-it-is wetness. Rainy days make me want to be at home cooking a warm, delicious meal and settling in with a thick book to read. And depending on the meal, and sometimes the book, I’ll have a glass of wine, a mug of tea, or maybe just water if I’ve had too much of the first two. Since I’ve been home from work, I’ve managed to pull out a box of macaroni and cheese for dinner since I’m craving comfort food that doesn’t require too much…
