Summer Reading Challenge

UPDATE #2: Summer Reading “Challenge”

This is going to be barely an update – more of a declaration of my excitement for the books I just purchased. I am still plugging away at Anna Karenina, but I’ve decided to take on the challenge of reading more than one book at once, especially since I’m moving at a snail’s pace towards my reading goal(s). Here’s an image of the books I have recently (today) added to my library:

New Books - 7.19.15

Besides the obvious reason – because I need/want to read them – here is why I chose these specific titles:

On My Reading Challenge List(s)
East of Eden – John Steinbeck [Penguin 80]
Candide – Francois Voltaire [Penguin 80]
Early Warning – Jane Smiley [Book Club Summer Reading Challenge 2015]
*I’m also reading this new release from Jane Smiley because I read and enjoyed her novel A Thousand Acres

Because Harper Lee/Most Anticipated Novel of the Summer-Year-Decade
Go Set a Watchman – Harper Lee

Because I Needed the New Edition
To Kill A Mockingbird – Harper Lee

On My Favorite Comedic Writers List/A Must/Because Aziz Ansari
Modern Romance – Aziz Ansari

I really had to hold back to just these titles, since I found almost every book I want/need to read that is on my mental reading list and my Summer Challenge List(s). These will do for now – what title(s) have you purchased recently, and what are you reading? Is your Summer Challenge going as well/poorly as mine? Tell me in the comments, and happy reading!
