Resolutions/Happy New Year | Sunday Morning Thoughts
*This post appeared on my original blog on January 4th, 2015 – It has been edited slightly and includes an addendum I cannot believe it’s already the beginning of a new year. I am excited for what 2015 will bring me, and I have a lot of mixed feelings about leaving 2014 behind.

The Turn of a Century | Sunday Morning Thoughts
From John Steinbeck in East of Eden: “There’s no rot on this clean new hundred years.” What’s in the future? Uncertainty. Hope. Despair. Innovation. Hardships. Triumph. Sickness. Life.

Bug Bites, Rain, Greasy Hair | Sunday Morning Thoughts
As a kid, I was always excited to go on camping trips. My family would plan two or three every summer, whether this meant traveling to a new location, heading to a usual place, or just bringing tents along to our camp for the 4th of July so we didn’t have to sleep inside (Note: on a sweltering hot day in July, my grandfather likes to keep camp’s inside temperature right around 90 degrees).

Lazy Sunday | Sunday Morning Thoughts
Coffee, Hulu, my favorite blanket, and my journals. Lazy doesn’t necessarily mean unproductive – don’t get me wrong, too much laziness can be unproductive. But on days like this, when the weather is dreary, rainy, and cold, I just want to binge watch a variety of shows, read new and old favorite novels, and write whatever is in my mind. Oh, and drink coffee of course.

A Wish for a More Knowledgeable World, and Self | Sunday Morning Thoughts
I’d like to start by telling you to think about, reach out to, and express your love for the people you cherish in your lives. This really should be done everyday, as you probably know, but when tragedy strikes in our country or in other places in the world, it really heightens our awareness of how precious and fragile life is. Over 2,000 people have died in the recent earthquake in Nepal, and as I peruse my social media feeds, I learn that people I have crossed paths with know individuals or families who reside and/or work in Nepal, and I can’t imagine the fright and worry they went through waiting for…
