What are you currently reading?

As of twenty minutes ago…nothing!

What did you recently finish reading?

Forbidden by Beverly Jenkins, about twenty minutes ago. While I do feel a bit cheated out of a steamy wedding night scene, the chemistry between the two main characters and romantic tension during the development of their relationship was definitely worthwhile. This novel is quite a work of historical fiction too, if you prefer exploring history in that way [like I do] (post-American Civil War politics and travesties, and the building and successes of black communities).

What do you think you’ll read next?

I have one more [overdue] library book left on my immediate TBR: This Rough Magic by Mary Stewart. It’s a 1964 edition so I’m not sure if I’ll take it up to camp with me this weekend (where I tend to do most of my reading outside in the woods/on a beach), but I plan on at least starting it tonight. I will be taking The Stone Sky by N.K. Jemisin with me (a less ‘precious’ paperback edition) and hopefully [finally] finishing it.
