The Valentine’s Day Book Tag

Like I said in my previous Book Tag, I was hoping to find a love-related or Valentine’s Day inspired Book Tag to do, and after some searching I found THE Valentine’s Day Book Tag over on the Golden Books Girl blog. I’ve tagged a couple of my recent followers (thank you!!) below, but if you decide to do this book tag let me know in the comments so I can read your answers!

Stand Alone Book You Love

Well I’m already off to a bad start because I can’t think of just one, so I’m going with the most recent book I’ve read and loved which is The Broken Girls by Simone St. James.

Dystopian Book You Love

I don’t read this genre very often, so I’m going to say two of them that immediately come to mind, because I can’t choose (why do I even do Book Tags?): Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel and The Fireman by Joe Hill.

A Book That You Love But No One Else Talks About

Nothing Gold Can Stay by Ron Rash. It’s a book of short stories, and I don’t know if I just missed [any of] the hype when it was published, but it’s one of my favorite books.

Favorite Book Couple

I really love Diana and Matthew from the All Souls Trilogy.

A Book That Other People Love But You Haven’t Read Yet

The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas. I have it checked out from the library and just haven’t started it yet – this is a good reminder!

A Book With Red on the Cover

This edition of Black Beauty by Anna Sewell.

A Book With Pink on the Cover

The Barnes & Noble Classics edition of The Beautiful and Damned by F. Scott Fitzgerald.

You were given a box of chocolate – which fictional boyfriend/girlfriend would give them to you?

George Knightley.

[For Galentine’s Day: Hermione, and I would give her a box too, of course.]

You are single on Valentine’s Day – what book would you read? What TV show would you watch? What movie would you watch?

I don’t like the implication of this one, because I’m likely going to do all three on Valentine’s Day and I’m in a long-term relationship. My selections are Jane Eyre, the Galentine’s Day/Valentine’s Day episodes of Parks and Recreation, and Funny Face.

You are in the book store – all of a sudden you get shot with an arrow by cupid. What new release have you fallen in love with?

An American Marriage by Tayari Jones [which everyone is raving about].
