    RC2015 – October: Yes Please

    October 31, 2015 /

Happy Saturday, happy Halloween, happy last day of October, and most importantly, happy first day of deer hunting season to all of my family, friends, and fellow Mainers! This last occasion is making me nostalgic today, but that’s for another post. This post is to address the second to last occasion listed above, and that is the last day of October, and more specifically, the end to October’s Reading Challenge. As a true procrastinator, I finished Yes Please¹ just an hour or so ago, but I promise that had more to do with my phobia of finishing books and less about the timeline because honestly, a month to finish a…

Reading Challenge 2015 – October: Yes Please

    October 31, 2015 /

Happy Saturday, happy Halloween, and happy last day of October! This post is to address the last occasion listed above, and that is the last day of October, and more specifically, the end to October’s Reading Challenge. As a true procrastinator, I finished Yes Please¹ just an hour or so ago, but I promise that had more to do with my phobia of finishing books and less about the timeline because honestly, a month to finish a book is really a generous amount of time. And yes, it’s a true phobia. But that’s for another post as well, and maybe for that one I’ll try to find the “scientific” name…

    RC2015 – Halfway Through October

    October 14, 2015 /

Hello readers and welcome to my halfway point update for the first month of my 2015 Reading Challenge. That sounds much more formal than it actually is, since I’m just going to tell you I have made it through about 1/3 of Yes Please, and other than the fact that I’m enjoying it, there’s not much more to report. Are you reading along with me? Are you reading something else? Leave an update on me, and like I have mentioned before, follow me on Goodreads to see what I’ve shelved, what else is on my currently-reading list, and books I’ve reviewed. And stop by in a couple of weeks as…

UPDATE #7 (and final): Summer Reading Challenge

    September 24, 2015 /

Happy fall, followers and readers! My Summer Reading Challenge timeline has met its end, much more quickly than I expected and hoped. Here is a summary of my progress with the Penguin 80 and Challenge Your Shelf book lists: Total Number of Titles: 110 Number of Days: 89 (oh God why didn’t I make this 90?! Cue OCD freakout) Titles Read Before Challenge: 9 Titles Read During Challenge: 3 Titles in Limbo: 1 (I haven’t forgotten about you, Anna Karenina) Even I understand the math between the total number of titles and the number of days; I knew this from the beginning. Did I purposely set myself up for failure, you ask?…
