Summer | 20 Books of Summer

    August 5, 2020 /

The 20 Books of Summer Reading Challenge was created and is hosted by Cathy at 746 Books. You can find my full TBR here, and keep reading for my thoughts on Summer by Edith Wharton. I do reveal details about the main characters and the plot that are not present in the summary, so my discussion does contain spoilers.

We’ve had it for 200 years. And it’s worth rereading.

    July 24, 2016 /

My trip to the library on Friday started with slight disappointment but ended with a flurry of thoughts about what we – as readers, scholars, editors, people of the present – do to and with literature of the past. First, the disappointment.

    February Reading Challenge: Anna Karenina

    March 4, 2016 /

My desire to get through this Leo Tolstoy creation is red hot; unfortunately my success with doing so is as non-existent as a flame in an outdoor fireplace buried under four feet of snow. I have tried reading this novel over and over and over again, and while I did get further this month than I have during previous attempts, I still could not get through the seven hundred and fifty four pages of this particular edition.
