Introduction to 2026 | Blogging and Reading
Another year away from my blog leading into a new year and renewed hope that I will flex my creative, curious, and online socializing muscles – or try to breathe life and strength back into them.

While I also want to dedicate more time to community building and engagement not bound by electronic screens and apartment walls, I do miss exploring books, media, and creators like I did in my early years of blogging (a decade ago, now; wow). This digital landscape has ebbed and flowed, but the drive I feel each year to return holds steady. So I’ll continue to try, try again.
Books and reading have always been the main themes of my blog, and they will continue to be. It’s only day two of the new year, but I’ve already hit the ground running with a couple of solid book selections (for anyone who is familiar with me and/or my blog, I do still prefer to read multiple books at once). I’m brainstorming blog post and reading challenge ideas, and ultimately just going in whatever direction inspires me to write or create the most.
You can of course follow me here on There’s Something About KM, as well as on The StoryGraph (@tsakmbooks) and Instagram (@theressomethingabout_). I do still have my Twitter/X profile, but I don’t have any plans to regularly post there (maybe this year will take me to Bluesky).
What are your reading, blogging, writing, and/or creating goals for this year? I’d love to hear about them below.

I am curently reading Eleanor and the Cold War by Ellen Yardley and it’s really good so far! My word for the year is “focus” and my goal is to focus on what truly matters, especially my relationship with the Lord.
