Dewey’s 24-Hour Readathon | October 2020

The Dewey’s 24-Hour Readathon – October 2020 – has ended. Find my final wrap-up/summary here.

The second Dewey’s 24-Hour Readathon of the year is nearly here, and I’m excited to once again read as many books I can over a 24-hour period.

If you are new to Dewey’s 24-Hour Readathon, you can get all the info here, although the most important details are in the name: a readathon that lasts 24 hours. This time around, the reading beings at 8AM EST on October 24th (and corresponding times around the world). Whether you read for all 24 hours, for 12 hours, or 2 hours, it’s a great way to make sure you spend some time reading this weekend.

My Readathon TBR is dominated by spooky, creepy, and/or mysterious stories. Most of the following books are on my October TBR, while others I just happen to be currently reading. Let’s just get into the list, shall we?

Dewey’s 24-Hour Readathon TBR

Physical Books
  1. The Road Through the Wall by Shirley Jackson | 194 pages (currently on page 32) | Summary
  2. Hangsaman by Shirley Jackson | 218 pages | Summary
  3. The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson | 233 pages | Summary
  4. Dracula by Bram Stoker | 402 pages (currently on page 216) | Summary
I just stopped reading this, not because I wasn’t enjoying it but because I tend to that with books—that is, get halfway through them and then pick up other books to read. So now is the time to finish it!
  5. The Obelisk Gate by N.K. Jemisin | 391 pages | Summary
Since I finished The Fifth Season at the beginning of this week, I am quite in the mood to continue on with its sequel. I’m not necessarily aiming to finish this book during the Readathon, but I want to get as far into it as possible.
EBook
  1. She Lies Alone by Laura Wolfe | 350 pages | Summary
    A NetGalley ARC.
Audiobooks
  1. Lord Edgware Dies: A Hercule Poirot Mystery by Agatha Christie | 6 hours 31 minutes (5 hours left | Summary
  2. The Pale Horse by Agatha Christie | 6 hours 43 minutes (4 hours left) | Summary
