From My Bookshelf: Think Pink

Currently I am sitting next to an open window, listening to and periodically watching the rushing water of the river directly behind my apartment. There is not a cloud in the sky and the fresh air is doing wonders for my mood. And since this spring-like March day has me thinking about rolling green fields and blooming flowers, I am directing my attention to the books From My Bookshelf that feature one of my favorite spring colors: pink!

On The Cover

The colorblocking on this Nelson Doubleday hardcover edition of Emma by Jane Austen is simple, yet timelessly charming. Not to mention that gold foil and pink buckram were made for each other, if you ask me.

On The Dust Jacket

I love a good dark floral pattern/print, and the perfect pink tones were chosen for the moody floral art on this hardcover edition of These Violent Delights by Victoria Namkung.

On The Pages

I know very little about Valley of the Dolls by Jacqueline Susann, but when I saw these sprayed edges in the clearance section at one of my local indies, I knew I wasn’t going to leave without this book. Combined with the black background and gold text, this is one of the most spectacular paperbacks I have on my shelves.
