A [not so] Quick Word

Hello, reader. I debated posting a short message on Twitter and Instagram about the current state of my blog, but I’m pretty long-winded and since the message I want to get across is about my blog, why not post it on my blog as content? Yes, my ideas are revolutionary – so if you want more, like and subscribe!

Many of you know that my blog was offline for about two weeks. It was complete hell, to be honest, and the only way it could have stressed me out more is if I used my blog for income – in this case I’m thankful I don’t. Two weeks of getting the runaround from phone and online “support” and having to resend emails in order to get a response had me extremely frustrated and burnt out. Plus, April was my blogiversary month and I had a bunch of ideas for posts and was running a giveaway – which I couldn’t share for the last two weeks of April (my site was brought back online on the 29th).

Anyway, you can see that I am back, and I have switched hosts – thank you for such a superb transition, WordPress! Honestly your support team is phenomenal. And Bluehost, good riddance. If only your “support” team was as good as your hosting services. If only it was a quarter as good, really.

Also as you can see, my blog is undergoing some cosmetic changes. There were a couple of hiccups during the switch, like my media library not importing and my posts losing all of their likes (and a couple of other things), but my communications with support have been so positive that I’m not losing any extra sleep.

Now for what’s to come.

I cannot believe May is here already; this year is flying by. I am feeling as motivated to write blog posts as I was in April, but now that summer is in my sights I’m wanting to spend as much time outside as possible – which for me means being away from my laptop most of the time. I have the crazy idea of waiting to update the look of my blog until after summer is over, but I don’t think I’ll be able to; like I said, I’m not currently losing any extra sleep over it, but if I wait two or three months I’m sure to go crazy thinking about how incomplete it looks.

I realize this post sounds like train-of-thought nonsense, because it is, but what I’m trying to say is if you’ve liked following me and my blog up to this point, please bear with me as I get back in the posting and blog hopping groove. I enjoy being here, but I need to restore the balance of my every day life now that I can productively use my blog again.

So that is where I’m at – I’d love to know how things are going for you. What do you have planned for the rest of spring, and what are you looking forward to this summer (or autumn and winter, if they apply)? Tell me what you’re reading, and recommend some books to me – my TBR could always use some new additions. 😉📚

(p.s. I’m still working on setting up a contact/email for my blog, so if you need to get in touch with me head to Twitter or Instagram)

(p.p.s. I am not taking book review requests at this time)
