Through The Winter Woods Book Tag

With all the snow falling, the temperatures getting cooler, and the beautiful Maine woods becoming more beautiful, I decided to create a book tag to celebrate this part of the year. I wanted to incorporate elements of a forest in winter, and thought about calling it the Winter Wonderland Book Tag. However, Allie from The Perks of Being a Book Freak has already created a tag with that name, so instead I’m calling it the Through The Winter Woods Book Tag. If you decide to fill it out yourself, please comment below with your link or tag me in the post so I can see your answers!

Morning Departure –
It’s best to take advantage of those early daylight hours during the short days of winter. Name a short book that brought you joy.

Love and Freindship and Other Early Works by Jane Austen.

Evergreen Trees –
Name a book you could (or do) read over and over again.

Walk Two Moons by Sharon Creech.

Bundled Up –
Name a book that makes you feel warm and cozy.

Little Women by Louisa May Alcott. The March family is so genuine and humble, and the story is so immersive, that I really did feel warm and cozy when I read it.

Icy River –
Name a book that features a bit of danger.

Shadow of Night by Deborah Harkness.

Hot Beverage in a Thermos –
Name your favorite hot beverage to drink in the winter; especially when you’re reading!

Hot cocoa with whipped cream (and occasionally with peppermint Schnapps).

Falling Snow –
Name a book with “snow” or “winter” (or both) in the title.

Winter Garden by Kristin Hannah.

Horse-Drawn Sleigh –
Name a book that took you on an enjoyable journey.

The Last Equation of Isaac Severy by Nova Jacobs.

Frosty Breeze –
Name a book that sent shivers up your spine.

Ravens Gathering by Graeme Cumming – I don’t think I stopped shivering through the whole book, honestly.

A Camera to Capture the Scenery –
Name a scene, chapter, or line from a book or poem that you return to again and again.

“Jackson Pollack, who worked just a few miles from here, famously said that his art was about the rhythm in nature. In a word, this place is fluid. Mountains, plains, and valleys dotted pleasantly with cows – to me, they seem uncomfortably…what is the word…stuck. The coast is no still life.”

The View From Lazy Point by Carl Safina

Invite A Friend –
Tag a friend (or friends) who you would bring on a trip through a winter forest wonderland.

I tag all of you reading this! Although I suppose that means we’re going to need a bigger sleigh…
