Finally Fall Book Tag 2018

In fall, the air is crisp and clear: Name a book with a vivid setting.

The City of Brass by S.A. Chakraborty.

Nature is beautiful… but also dying: Name a book that is beautifully written, but also deals with a heavy topic like loss or grief.

The Little Paris Bookshop by Nina George. As an only-English speaker, I can only attest to the English translation, so perhaps this is a bad choice, but the language in this book is so touching and seamless. Plus, it deals with multiple types of loss or grief, both mediocre, severe, long-term, and quickly passing.

Fall is back to school season: Share a non-fiction book that taught you something new.

The Omnivore’s Dilemma: A Natural History of Four Meals by Michael Pollan.

In order to keep warm, it’s good to spend some time with the people we love: Name a fictional family/household/friend-group that you’d like to be a part of.

The Beauchamp siblings/family from Witches of East End by Melissa de la Cruz.

The colourful leaves are piling up on the ground: Show us a pile of fall-colored spines!

Fall is the perfect time for some storytelling by the fireside: Share a book wherein somebody is telling a story.

The Princess Bride by William Goldman.

The nights are getting darker: Share a dark, creepy read.

Since it is fresh in my mind, I’m going with Ravens Gathering by Graeme Cumming.

The days are getting colder: Name a short, heartwarming read that could warm up somebody’s cold and rainy day.

I recommend “The Color Master” – a short story by Aimee Bender or The Magician’s Nephew by C.S. Lewis. 

Fall returns every year: Name an old favorite that you’d like to return to soon.

The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett.

Fall is the perfect time for cozy reading nights: Share your favorite cozy reading “accessories”!

A soft fleece blanket, a cozy sweater, apple spice and pumpkin pie candles, my favorite fall/pumpkin spice coffee (not an affiliate link), a notebook and pencil, and some fall dessert (baked by yours truly).
