I Spy Book Challenge Book Tag
I was introduced to the I Spy Book Challenge via Fictionophile, and knew I had to take part. You can click here to see her selections, and if you feel so inclined, follow the path of the I Spy Book Challenge takers before her.
Here are the rules:
Find a book on your shelves that contain (either on the cover or in the title) an example for each of the twenty categories.
You must have a separate book for all 20. Get as creative as you want and do it within five minutes (or longer if you have way too many books on way too many overcrowded shelves!)!

This is a pretty cool tag! The Memory Keeper’s Daughter is one of the best books I’ve ever read. I wonder what happened to my copy….and your tag has reminded me that I’m yet to read The Girl on the Train. Also, you’re a fan of Uncle Stevie too? 🙂

I haven’t read either of them – this book tag is a great example of the purpose of my 2018 Reading Challenge (to read all the books I own and keep only the ones that are dear to me). 😛 I have read both of Stephen King’s books here, and TGWLTG was actually the first of his books I read. Another one I own is The Eyes of the Dragon which I like very much. As a Mainer I feel compelled to support him; it’s a good thing I like his books. 😉

Very interesting. I must admit that I’ve never heard of the Ayn Rand book. I read both THE FOUNTAINHEAD and ATLAS SHRUGGED in college, but never heard of this one.
What do you think of it? Or of Ayn Rand in particular. It’s been awhile, but in the twenty years since I read the books I find they have an odd place in my memory. Somewhere between revolutionary (for the time) and rambling.
I like the I Spy Idea though! Fun way to curate a book selection.

I read Atlas Shrugged five or six years ago and enjoyed most of it as fiction – Dagny Taggart is such a strong female [in a world dominated by men] and I really admired that. Other than the story line I don’t remember much about what I thought of Ayn Rand’s writing, though towards the end there is a long speech that I skimmed/skipped most of because I found it dull (I feel like you and I have talked about this in comments before, ha). I actually happened upon the book in this tag at a library book sale, and it was one of a set of five Signet Classic editions of Ayn Rand’s books. I got all five because matching editions pull at my heart strings. I certainly know about Ayn Rand’s reputation and reception, including how terrible some people think her writing is (aside from her ideologies), so I’m excited to have this many of her books to do an analysis for myself.

This makes me think- I am hosting our next book club, and I was going to pull out a bunch of books that I’m giving away/donating- I should have everyone do a scavenger hunt through the books before they pick them!!

A good practice to do every couple of years. Either that or be lucky enough to have room for a humongous library!! Goodreads I only claimed to read 20 books. Not much I know, but if I write then reading takes a hit. Which reminds me I have a huge update on reads to put on there!!!

Thank you! And going into it I thought it was going to be as easy-breezy as the other tags I’ve done, but curating those covers was….something (I actually couldn’t find this particular cover for The Conservationist so I ended up having to use my own picture). Haha!
